OSW-NM-P-30-14 WW1 Parade in front of Wynnstay Hotel

Welsh Troops Picture Postcard Day – 1917. From Verna Palmer’s – A Portrait in Old Picture Postcards – the caption reads “ While the 3rd Battalion of the Second Monmouth Brigade was in Oswestry, the men lined up, as far as the eye can see, for this photograph which was one of a series sold in aid of the National Fund for Welsh Troops Picture Postcard Day in 1917.  Behind them, next to the Wynnstary Hotel is Mr. Vincent’s grocery shop, while in front of them the right-hand side of the street is still partly cobbled.
