Private James Cecil Morris 49063 MM 17 Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, presentation at The 5 Bells Hotel Oswestry, where he lived . He was home on leave for the first time since enlisting on 26 May 1916 and returned to France on 8 November 1918.
Both he (on the 6 Nov 1918) and his future brother in law Joseph Thomas (picture 227) wrote poems in the autograph book belonging to Marion J Thomas from WW1, containing sketches and poems from local soldiers which can be found in the Family/Local History Help No.19.
